Description Kateryna Kordas 2022-04-12 05:19:16 PDT
Overview: When you connect your AirPods during a webRTC call AirPods work properly but the data on the active microphone is not updated. So if you check the active microphone data you will see the data about the previous microphone.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Start a call in a webRTC app (e.g. https://meet.google.com) using a built-in microphone.
2. Connect AirPods to your device during a call.
3. Open the app settings and pay attention to the active microphone name.

Actual Results: AirPods are connected and working properly but the active microphone name is still the built-in microphone. The data on the active microphone is not updated.
Expected Results: AirPods are connected and working properly. The active microphone name is "AirPods". The data on the active microphone is updated.

Can be reproduced on macOS 12 and iOS 15 in Safari.
Checked using iPhone 12 mini and MacBook Pro 2019 (Intel).

This is currently expected, meet.google.com would have to react to ondevicechange event and see that the default device has changed.
Or we could embrace Chrome behaviour which is to expose a default microphone device which would automatically change dynamically whenever the system OS device is changing.
