I was previously using WebKit 2.32.x through a local Squid proxy without any trouble; Chromium (up to and including the latest version) works fine also. WebKit 2.36.0 however fails to load many/most sites when using the proxy, with useless error messages like "Connection terminated unexpectedly" (cnn.com) or "Could not parse HTTP response" (newsmax.com). Ironically, webkit.org loads fine.
