Steps to Reproduce: 1. Using Safari go to https://alphagov.github.io/accessible-autocomplete/examples/ 2. Turn on VoiceOver and navigate down the page using Ctrl+Option+Right-Arrow 3. Navigate to an autosuggest example so that input field has focus 4. VoiceOver will provide instruction for interacting with the input field and you will hear "You are currently on a Menu pop-up combo box. Type text, or to display a list a choices, press Control-Option-Space." 5. Try to type a country. Expected: Once the input field has focus, I should be able to type text to trigger the autosuggest option list. Observed: There is a quick flash of the cursor and then it disappears. If I try to type text, nothing displays in the input, so it is impossible to interact with the autosuggest. Additional Notes: Safari: Version 15.2 (15612.3.6.1.8, 15612) VoiceOver: macOS Catalina 10.15.7 Chrome: Version 98.0.4758.80 When following these steps in Chrome with VoiceOver, it works as expected and cursor stays in input field. If using tab key in Safari with VoiceOver, it works as expected and cursor stays in input field; however, tab key is not how I'd expect to navigate forward through a webpage in VoiceOver.

Thanks for filing, I have not been able to reproduce this on Safari Technology Preview. Are you still seeing this issue on STP 141?

Hello Smoley, Yes, I am still encountering the bug. I've done a screen-recording if it helps to visibly identify the issue that I observe: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1-N2guIUoc5BNQbgu1Jdz7nYAtbMrUyac/view?usp=sharing
