Use a device ID that is only valid for the life of the current frame when a Continuity camera (iPhone) is not the system preferred camera. This prevents a script from remembering the ID of a Continuity camera (iPhone) the user selected when it was setup and in position, and reusing it automatically later when the phone is in the user's pocket.
