Steps to reproduce

1. macOS Version 13.0 Beta
2. Open Safari Tech Preview Version 16.0 (18614.1.19.1.5)
3. Open Web Inspector
4. Go to settings gear
5. In general, check Search, Case Sensitive (for example)

Expected: 
white mark on background blue

Actual:
The box disappears.

This is probably lower level, maybe bug 242153 or some issues that macOS beta had below WebKit.
