Could you please attach a crash log from ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports/ ? I can reproduce a crash on my M1 MacBook Pro, and that one is tracked as bug 219588. I hope that it's the same issue, but let's confirm with a crash log. Created attachment 416585 [details]
Safari tab H264 crash log MBP2017
This is a different crash signature than in bug 219588. I was able to find a 2017 MacBook Pro, and this reproduces as you described, with the same crash log. I'm also hitting a crash using a 16" MacBook Pro, and I'm getting a different yet crash there. Hopefully, they all share the root cause, despite different signatures. Is there any estimate when to expect this to be resolved? It is pretty bad that preferred codec in Apple browser on Apple OS on Apple hardware crashes. Could you please check if this still reproduces with macOS 11.2? I believe that it should be fixed with this release. macOS 11.2 works flawlessly, thanks! Thank you for confirming! I'll mark this INVALID as this was not a WebKit issue. |
