I am guessing this is because not all the Makefiles define PATH_FROM_ROOT. Caused by Bug 216865. Created attachment 410355 [details]

I'm seeing the following spam on the command line when using make to build from directories like Source/WebCore: samweinig:.../Source/WebCore> make usage: basename string [suffix] basename [-a] [-s suffix] string [...] ===== BUILDING ===== I believe this is likely from https://bugs.webkit.org/show_bug.cgi?id=216865.
