Steps to reproduce the problem:
If a formatting applies to a string where the characters should get replaced with a OpenType-Font-Feature (included in the Font) the replacement is no longer happening. Detailed description, comparisons, test-fonts and code in my bug report:

This bug was also in Chrome and the bug got fixed in October 2019 (link in bug report). Firefox was not affected.
