Reported 2007-06-23 09:36:43 PDT
The audio accompanying the video on http://broadband.tsn.ca plays twice on ToT and continues playing even after you close that tab/window. Using Flip4Mac (2.1.2) to play the WMV content. This happens in Safari 3.0.2 Beta and r23747; Safari 2 behaves properly.

This could be the "setting display:none doesn't kill the plugin" bug.

I played around with this a bit more today and cannot get it to happen on Windows (though in order to even get the thing to load you need to spoof as Mac Safari).

Just wanted to note that this particular site will be particularly highly used come next week as it's a major source for hockey news in Canada and people will probably start to run into the issue more frequently.

See bug 15405 for an ASSERT on this site that's hit without Flip4Mac installed.

I did some additional testing and found that Flip4Mac installs both a .webplugin and a .plugin file. Forcing WebKit to rely on the .plugin by removing the .webplugin seems to clear up the issue. The reverse is not true. I'm not sure whether the issue lies with Flip4Mac or WebKit.

Mass closing plug-in bugs, as plug-in support has been removed from WebKit. Please comment and/or reopen if this still affects WebKit in some way.
